• Italian food is the most popular cuisine for first dates. 46% of American singles say their first choice for a first-date venue would be Italian.
• Wednesday is the best day for a first date according to 41% of singles.
• 97% of guys who like a girl after a first date call her within three days for a follow-up. There is a 1 in 8 chance that a second date will happen for a woman if she has not heard from him within one day. After three days? Sorry ladies, but don't hold your breath... Move on.
• 51% of single guys spend at least $100 per month on dates, and 29% shell out more than $150. About two-thirds of American females spend under $50 each month.
• It's Just Lunch, a professionals-only dating service, says that 58% of females have gone out on dates only four times in the past year, while 51% of males have been on at least six dates during the same time frame.
• The top conversation killers on dates are as follows: Past relationships (49%), Dieting or body image (21%), Politics (15%), and Marriage (15%).
