All About Faithvine...
You are welcome here! If you're a churchless Christian, a church leader, or if you're new to the teachings of Jesus, or even if you're jaded and worn out on religion, or you're excited and passionate about Christianity...and if your conservative or liberal, or if you're somewhere in between, you are welcome here! We all have a place to belong through Jesus...He's the Vine.
Faithvine is a network that provides a doorway for people to access any Christian material they're looking for and to interact with others in a safe online community. It also provides a wealth of Christian resources and tools to develop personal faith, and a current stream of filtered news content from a variety of sources around the world.
We are dedicated to encouraging and supporting Christians to enjoy compelling content and expressing their opinions about religion, politics, family, entertainment, and, in general, the world we live in. Because we are real people living in a real world, and we all have value to bring from our experiences.
Our primary mission is to foster spiritually-significant conversation that reaches beyond boundaries... denominational, geographical, or any other boundaries that alienate or inhibit the value God has placed in every human. We provide a safe community in which Christians from all backgrounds can grow together socially, intellectually, and spiritually, with a greater sense of purpose and connection through the central figure of Jesus Christ.
We also want to serve as a conduit for churches, missionaries, charities, and other faith-based organizations to reach out to their members, raise funds for various needs, and to attract new members. We want to provide a platform for these organizations to spread their message, keep its members informed, and form as many partnerships as possible to aid them in their missions.
Regardless of status or creed, we offer everyone a network in which they can explore a wealth of information from our point of entry in our Home page, a place to connect with other Christians and express their individuality in our Community section, develop their soul in our Resources section, and keep advised on the current happenings in our world through our News section. Through these functions of Faithvine, we want to encourage the practice of love for our God, for ourselves, and for our neighbors.
With these things in mind, we encourage everyone to make full use our network, and to do so honestly, authentically, and in the spirit of Christ.
"I am the Real Vine and my Father is the Farmer. He cuts off every branch of me that doesn't bear grapes. And every branch that is grape-bearing he prunes back so it will bear even more. You are already pruned back by the message I have spoken. Live in me. Make your home in me just as I do in you. In the same way that a branch can't bear grapes by itself but only by being joined to the vine, you can't bear fruit unless you are joined with me. I am the Vine, you are the branches. When you're joined with me and I with you, the relation intimate and organic, the harvest is sure to be abundant. Separated, you can't produce a thing. Anyone who separates from me is deadwood, gathered up and thrown on the bonfire. But if you make yourselves at home with me and my words are at home in you, you can be sure that whatever you ask will be listened to and acted upon. This is how my Father shows who he is-when you produce grapes, when you mature as my disciples." -John 15: 1-8 (MSG)

Our Staff
Faithvine is run by a staff that truly cares about its mission. Here are just some of the fine staff members who are involved with the happenings of the Faithvine network:
Dave Brown, Editorial Director
Dave has spent a good bit of time overseas and within the states discussing all matters of Christ, Christians, and Christianity. He is a graduate of Oral Roberts University and Victory Bible Institute, and has been intimately involved in Christian work since early childhood, both behind the scenes and on the stage. His parent are ordained ministers, missionaries, and founders of a Texas Bible school. Growing up, he could frequently be found debating with his parent's missionary- and pastor-friends on various theological issues. He knows what it's like to be both passionate and jaded about Christianity, often at the same time. His main focus in life now is rediscovering the teachings of Jesus, and learning how to tangibly apply those teachings in everyday life, such as learning how to be a better husband, neighbor and worker. Dave's professional experience is rooted in the Los Angeles publishing scene, where he served in various capacities, from travel writer to editor in both the highly-aggressive consumer magazine industry and for non-profit publications. Dave also spent several years as a successful medical salesman, but has returned to full-time work in the editorial field. For him, it is an honor and privilege to serve through Faithvine. Dave will now refrain from writing of himself in the third person...He thinks it's stupid, but he realizes it sounds professional and that's what you're supposed to do.
Q Manning, Technologist/Designer
Born and raised in a little East Texas town named Crockett, Q has spent the last 10 years helping to brand and create identities for numerous companies and organizations. He worked as Lead Designer for WhisperWire, Inc., defining the companies brand and creating the interface for their cutting edge telecommunications software, PowerSeller. Q has crafted brands and websites for companies in Little Rock, Austin, Savannah, New York, and Los Angeles. He recently graduated Cum Laude from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a BFA in Film and Television. He brings to Faithvine his verve, enthusiasm and desire to create an outstanding community of Christians, where someone can always come for advice, education and fellowship.
Mark Simoneau, Technology Manager
Mark recently joined the FaithVine team and seeks to bring Hawaiian Shirt Fridays and Gratuitous Apple Products into the atmosphere of the staff. If you hear a guitar, some crazy, slightly off key vocals or a repetitive percussive sound, don't worry, it's just Mark. Having spent the last five years as a developer and tester, Mark now steps into his role as Technology Manager full force (the wife and two kids were good training for the management part!). Mark spends his spare time playing with his kids, loving his wife, serving at his church and jamming out on whatever instrument is around him. He's our obnoxious jack-of-all-trades, but he hopes to be Mastered by the One.
Chris Leonard, Project Manager
Chris is a seventh-generation Texan who is proud of his home state and its history. His formal education is in engineering, with a degree from The University of Texas at Austin, and he has extensive experience with computers and web technology. Chris accepted Christ as a teenager, but didn't fully understand what that meant until years later when he found a thriving Christian community. He's excited to be part of Faithvine, and hopes to see it grow into a rich online community that fosters faith and stretches our understanding of Christ and love.
